Join us on Monday evenings in June at 6:00 p.m. at CEED (287 South Country Road, Brookhaven Hamlet) for Outdoor Yoga with Lauren from Salt of the Earth Yoga. This program is accessible to all and is beginner-friendly.

Unwind, stretch, and be kind to your body with gentle yoga in nature.

Spread the News About the Fun

Spread the News About the Fun

We’re holding a great Summer Solstice Festival on Saturday, June 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The theme is All Things Native, and there will be entertainment, activities, and food!  We’re always trying to grow our CEED family, and increase knowledge of what we do, so please spread the news that there is a fun event for all ages at CEED!

Click below to see our website post about the festival, and for a link to our festival flyer.  If you have a chance to share in your social media, or print and post it on a non-virtual bulletin board, we’d be so grateful.  And we still have a few spots for vendors.  See the link below to apply.

Thank you to the entire CEED family for helping us to connect people to nature, and have a great time doing it!  And come join us on the 18th!

Survey Says Camp is Great!

Survey Says Camp is Great!

Survey Says Camp is Great!

The American Camp Association surveyed 5,000 families about summer programs for kids.  The results:

Campers Say…

Camp helped me make new friends. (96%)
Camp helped me to get to know kids who are different from me. (93%)
The people at camp helped me feel good about myself. (92%)
At camp, I did things I was afraid to do at first. (74%)

Parents Say…

My child gained self-confidence at camp. (70%)
My child continues to participate in some of the new activities he or she learned at camp. (63%)
My child remains in contact with friends made at camp. (69%)

At CEED, we believe our Summer Nature Experience for kids in grades 1-7, and our Leadership and Conservation Program for teens, provide all these benefits and more.  Many of our repeat attendees say they look forward to seeing their friends from other school districts each summer.

Full-day and half-day enrollment is continuing, but some weeks are nearly full.  Enroll your children today.

Seven Ways to Help Your Teen this Summer

Seven Ways to Help Your Teen this Summer

Seven Ways to Help Your Teen this Summer

For: Teens in grades 8-11 (as of September)
When: Session One – July 11th – July 29, Session Two – August 1 – August 12
Where: Session One – Post Morrow Foundation property, Session Two – CEED and Mama Farm

Seven ways CEED’s Leadership and Conservation Program helps your teen:

  1. Outdoors activity is good for body and soul.
  2. Learn leadership skills to use throughout life.
  3. Develop social skills with adults, peers, younger children … in a setting different from school.
  4. Learn how to investigate and think about new things.
  5. Develop lifelong sense of wonder about the natural world.
  6. Gain a sense of accomplishment and mastery.
  7. Experience team building and team spirit … make new friends!

The Summer Leadership and Conservation Program helps develop future leaders and conservationists. Teens in this program will not only go out in the field to do real science, but they will also bring their knowledge back to share with younger children.

Make this a summer of emotional, intellectual, and social growth — outdoors — for your child. Enroll in CEED’s Leadership and Conservation Program.
