Time Running Out to Hatch Quail in 2022!

Our Bobwhite Quail Project is an opportunity for teachers, librarians, club leaders and others to provide a unique experience to children while helping to build the population of these fascinating birds on Long Island. Your classroom or group will incubate quail eggs and watch them hatch! Feed the chicks through their initial growth and then return them for further development in our quail enclosures until they are large enough for release. In July, your group will have the opportunity to be part of releasing these native birds into a natural habitat. If you are interested in hatching quail in your classroom or organization, please click below, or email Ranger Eric Powers at eric@ceedli.org as soon as possible to make sure you have time to hatch eggs.
This is a remarkable education program, and a lot of fun for students and teachers and leaders.
