CEED Hears Amanda Gorman on Climate Change
Amanda Gorman became the youngest inauguration poet when she shared her poem “The Hill We Climb” at the inauguration of President Joe Biden on January 20, 2021. She has also created other extraordinary poems, including a piece she wrote and performed about climate change called, “Earthrise.” In it, Amanda voices:
Floating like a silver raft
in space, and we see the face of our planet anew.
We relish the view;
We witness its round green and brilliant blue,
Which inspires us to ask deeply, wholly:
What can we do?
One thing we can do is inspire a new generation of young people to fight for the earth. In addition, those of us who are already adults responsible for the planet can open ourselves to inspiration from young people like Amanda Gorman and do our part to “choose to do more than cope …”
Spring Break is coming! Half farm, half nature, 100% fun. An outdoor learning and playing adventure they will remember forever.
Away from screens. Immersed in reality. In the woods. Learn by questioning. Learn by doing. Find your love for nature with CEED.
A few weeks ago, we started teaching some of our classes at the Washington Lodge at CEED and came upon a beautiful discovery on our trails.
