CEED’s Wave Makers Go to the Ocean
Last week felt like spring, and our Wave Makers enjoyed the sunshine looking for seals, seabirds, and other treasures at Cupsogue Beach: spider crab shells, horseshoe crab shells, piping plover tracks, moon snail shells, and much more! A perfect day for exploring!
This week we will be back at CEED asking questions about how all the different forms of water are connected. What even is a ‘watershed’ anyway and why should we care about it? What’s the difference between the snow samples we collected two weeks ago and the ocean water we saw last week?
Wave Makers is for children 10-16, and it meets every Saturday from 10 a.m. -12 p.m. It’s a great way to have fun exploring while building science and thinking skills. Wave Makers helps young people learn to be advocates for their water world.
