Ready to Roll with Schools: CEED’s School Programs for 2021-2022

Children, School Programs

We did it!  We got through this past year and half of challenges, and the staff at CEED is thrilled to be providing in-school opportunities for children again.  2020-2021 was a year when we learned that nothing could stop us from learning – just as in nature, we adapted when necessary.  It was different, and some of us had to learn new communication technologies.  But teachers, school administrators, and our CEED staff as well worked hard to persevere and provide opportunities to experience nature even when we couldn’t be together in-person.

Now we’re even more flexible and more capable.  For 2021-2022, CEED offers not only the programs we had prior to COVID, but a whole new array of opportunities for your students.  We can come to your location for in-school programs and assemblies, have your school visit us at CEED’s Washington Lodge, get together virtually with our online programs, or meet you somewhere in the many beautiful natural environments on Long Island.

For Students – a chance to learn from trained biology educators, meet animal ambassadors up close, and get outside in the natural world

For Teachers – CEED programs reinforce classroom lessons and link to Math and ELA core curricula, and to the NYSSLS standards.

CEED offers in-person and online presentation, hikes and field trips, and school workshops including:

  • Animal Adaptations (Live Animals)*
  • The World of Birds (Live Animals)*
  • Bobwhite Quail vs Ticks Program: A Populations Study*
  • A Woods Walk (in a park of your choice)
  • Beach to Break Hike: Environmental Changes
  • Survey of a Salt Marsh
  • Math in the Outdoors
  • Biodiversity Study of your Schoolyard
  • Pond Life Food Webs*
  • All About Flowers & Seeds
  • Produce of the World (fruits & vegetables)
  • All About Worms and Composting
