Do You Know Long Island?

Events, Nature Center

Test Your Knowledge During Our Virtual Vernal Equinox Festival – March 19, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

You can’t know Long Island without knowing its waters.  You’re never more than 10 miles from saltwater on this more than 100-mile-long island.  And there are more than 45 lakes and ponds, and nearly 20 rivers and streams! Plus, bays, coves, inlets … there’s no end.

Join us on Instagram Live to discover new places to enjoy the watery natural world on Long Island. We’ll be on for five minutes at the top of every hour from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. You can sign in for any or all. You’ll meet some of our staff and volunteers as they talk about their favorite places that make Long Island unique.

And join in our Water, Water Everywhere guessing game! See if you can guess where our hourly hosts are live-streaming from. You’ll test how well you know our island, and you may discover some amazing natural locations you didn’t know about.  Join us!

Instagram Live.  Starts at 7 a.m. and continues on the hour till 7 p.m.
