See the Perseid Meteor Shower at CEED!

Join Vanderbilt Planetarium’s Dave Bush and CEED’s Ranger Eric for a night to remember …
Every year on summer evenings from late July through the end of August, our universe provides us with a spectacular show. Please join us on Thursday, August 12th from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for a night with Vanderbilt’s Planetarium Director, Dave Bush, as he guides us for a spectacular viewing of the Perseid Meteor Shower. We would love to tell you more, but it is always more exciting to hear about these exciting astronomical events from Dave. Bring a blanket or reclining chair, a snack (although we will have some for sale), and either a telescope, binoculars, or just your eyes. This is one of those nights that you do not need more than your eyes. Please do not bring your flashlights, flashy-light up shoes, or plan on using your phone light. The darker the better and everyone’s eyes will adjust quickly. In fact, we chose this night because the moon will be a little sliver of a waxing crescent. This will be a night to remember, and one that just might spark your child’s wonder about the vast universe!
