Two Great Reasons to Walk or Run on the Wild Side

May 27, 2020

Announcing the #CEEDWalkRun on the Wild Side Virtual 5K!

Be one of the first to Walk or Run on the Wild Side to support your local nature center, the Center for Environmental Education & Discovery (CEED) and take part in #NationalTrailsDay, expanding public access to our nation’s hiking trails. This virtual event provides meaningful incentive for all ages and abilities to get outside, be active and enjoy the spring weather for a wonderful cause.

Just walk or run 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) between Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 14, and you are a success! Your body, mind and soul will feel good supporting the environment today and for generations to come! Do it all at once, or a little at a time… in your neighborhood, or on CEED’s public trails at the Washington Lodge estate. Or visit one of our region’s many parks that are open for walking and running while practicing safe physical distancing. Your efforts will have double the impact by raising much needed funds to support CEED and expressing your support for trails and outdoor activities!

And be sure to post photos of your Walk/Run on the Wild Side to Support CEED!

Even if you don’t want to walk or run, you can still be a part of this special fundraiser for CEED by checking “Donate Only” on the registration page.

The #CEEDWalkRun is also a great way to take part in #NationalTrailsDay (June 6). The American Hiking Society has organized this day to bring attention to the need to maintain and expand public access to our nation’s wonderful trails, which give joy and quality of life to so many.

Take the National Trails Day Pledge, and then join us for CEED’s Walk/Run on the Wild Side 5K as your first “action for our trails in 2020”. Your participation supports CEED as we expand our public trail system at the Washington Lodge estate. Go to americanhiking.org/national-trails-day to take the pledge and be entered in their drawing to win one of five $460-value hiking gear packages!

Remember to post photos of your Walk/Run on the Wild Side at #CEEDWalkRun, #NationalTrailsDay
