Get Outside & Discover!

Nature is the only classroom that offers infinite opportunities to make new discoveries, ask questions and use our creativity to become aware of the world around us. Led by an outstanding group of environmental educators from different backgrounds, kids will…

  • Hike through various ecosystems in over 100 acres of trails
  • Weeks 1-3: Kayak at Post Morrow & explore estuary ecosystems
  • Weeks 4-7: Visit Mama Farm and meet the farm animals
  • Meet & greet CEED’s rescued animal ambassadors
  • Use our creativity to make nature-based art projects
  • Bond with new friends in a supportive atmosphere of wonder
  • Take a weekly field trip to discover our local parks!

… and so much more!!

CEED Summer Camp

Our program is suited for adventurous, artistic, wild children ages 5-12 (Conservation & Leadership Program for ages 12-16). As long as the weather is safe, we spend the entirety of our day outside. The majority of our day is child-led: either finding new creatures and connections with the help of our great naturalists or designing creative projects using pieces of nature we encounter in our hikes. We like to supplement each day with a few pre-planned activities such as owl pellet dissections, gardening, or meeting our animal ambassadors.

Weeks 1-3 @Post Morrow (July 6-24)

The first three weeks of our program are at the Post Morrow Foundation (two minutes down the road from CEED). During this time, we have access to Beaverdam Creek which we access with our kayaks and canoes (optional for children). We also get to explore the local estuary system, a tidal wetland, and even a sprawling meadow

Weeks 4-7 @ CEED & Mama Farm (July 27-August 21)

The last four weeks of our program are at CEED & Mama Farm. During this time, we tend to split our days between CEED & Mama Farm to meet all the farm animals and our rescue animals while exploring the different trails at both locations.

Our day runs from 9:00am to 3:30pm. We usually have two snack breaks, one in the morning around 10:30 and one in the afternoon around 2:00. Lunch is held at 12pm each day. We ask parents to pack with appropriate food for each day but we also have catering available from Cafe Castello (please refrain from bringing nuts).

Sign Ups are open from December through the week before camp, with discounts available for early bird registration.

WARNING: Your child is certainly going to go home tired, dirty, and smiling every day 🙂
