CEED-URDAY is a day to experience CEED’s offerings while enjoying nature and socializing:

Conservation & Volunteer Day, Saturday, September 6, 2025, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Volunteers can help with Conservation Projects and other buildings & grounds projects for CEED. Scouts can work on their Conservation Badge hours with trail maintenance, building bird and bat houses, removing invasive plants, and replanting native plants. Projects may vary, so please contact info@ceedli.org or (631) 803-6780 for specifics about what is planned for the current month.

Puddle Jumpers Saturday, September 6, 2025, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, ages 5–7
Build a fort, collect some bugs, discover new things in nature, and make great friends. The Puddle Jumpers program is a great way to get your child exposed to the beauty of nature in a safe and explorative way. This program meets twice a month with an optional music class called Sound Waves once a month.

Surf Explorers: Saturday, September 6, 2025, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, ages 8-10

Surf /sərf/ (n.): the bubbles, foam, and fun at the edge of each wave where land and sea meet.

Join the Surf Explorers and dive into nature with CEED! This class is perfect for younger adventurers who are curious about the world around them. We’ll meet twice a month to splash into science, discover local plants and animals, help take care of the Earth, and create art and stories inspired by our time outside.

Through games, nature walks, and hands-on projects, kids will build a love for the environment and become young stewards of Long Island’s wild places.

Let’s explore, protect, and play—together!

Wavemakers Saturday, September 6, 2025, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, ages 8–15
Wave /wāv/ (n.): a propagation of disturbances from place to place in a regular organized way.
Become a Wave Maker with CEED and learn how to enact change in your community. Participants will meet twice a month to explore our local ecosystems, contribute in conservation efforts, develop curiosity-driven science experiments and use this data to effectively communicate science and policy to society at large.
Together we can make a difference for our local community, Long Island, and our planet!

Puddle Jumpers and Wavemakers classes are offered free for the community. Absence in two or more classes in a row will result in removal from the roster to give a spot to someone else.
All meetings will occur at CEED, 287 South Country Road, Brookhaven, NY, 11719
