Education that inspires.

In keeping with our mission to inspire connections to nature, CEED offers School Programs that use natural phenomena as well as our Live Animal Ambassadors to help students explore the nature of science, get outside, and develop appreciation for the natural world.

Led by Ranger Eric Powers, a biologist with more than 30 years of experience sharing nature with people of all ages, CEED programs incorporate cross-cutting concepts that link to Math and ELA core curricula, and to the NYSSLS standards. We provide innovative, hands-on, inquiry-based Science Programs for grade-levels pre-K through 12 with differentiated instruction and tiered lessons. Professional Development workshops for teachers are available in conjunction or independently of classroom programming.

All programs are designed to fit your curriculum and group needs, and can be scheduled across multiple days for larger groups. Subject to seasonality, Presentations, Workshops, Field Trips and/or Professional Development are available year round.

Please ask about booking through BOCES to help defray costs! And be sure to take advantage of New York State’s easy-to-apply-for Connect Kids to Parks grants, which can provide $1,000 reimbursement for educational field trips to parks and outdoor locations.

Ask our past partners for program recommendations! School districts and institutions we have served include:

Port Washington
Mount Sinai
South Huntington
Hampton Bays
Molloy College
