Community Nest Build with Tonito Valderamma Saturday, July 19, 5:00 – 6:00 pm CEED 287 S Country Rd, Brookhaven, NY 11719, USA Join environmental artist and educator, Tonito Valderrama, in making a human-sized nest in the CEED Woods! A brief introduction to our local feathered friends will be provided before engaging participants in the installation. Each Nest is approximately 10 feet or more in circumference and serves as a symbol to celebrate the return of eagles, ospreys, and other birds to Long Island. Each egg is a hand-carved wooden log sculpture, designed for visitors to sit inside and connect. The nest materials can be utilized by local birds for their own nesting as a gift back to nature! These sculptures can be added onto each spring just as the birds do. This is a very amazing event for all ages, and no prior registration is required.
