Foraging in Brookhaven
We had a great first workshop for Friendly Foragers! As a welcome, we drank Superfood Dandelion Mocha that Elettra prepared in advance, and we made tobacco offerings in the welcome fire and along the way as we foraged, as a symbol of gratitude to the earth. A few of the plants we foraged were cherry bark, cat briar, edible roses and wood sorrel.
After harvesting the cherry bark, we put it in a dehydrator to prepare it for making cherry cough syrup at home! But for instant gratification, everyone received a pre-made cherry bark cough syrup as a take away! We also ate freshly prepared Cat Briar Bruschetta on toast, which included some of the plants we foraged that day!
Join our next workshop July 13th.
