Is Birding for You?

Millions of people have found that birding gets them outdoors, gaining all the soul-filling benefits that come from experiencing the wonders of nature. And birds are easy to see … at least most of the time.
But how to figure out if it’s your thing? And how to get started?
Birding for Beginners – Part 1, Sat. Dec 3, 2-4 p.m., Part 2, Sat. Jan. 7, 2-4 p.m. at the Washington Lodge.
Katie Kleinpeter is a lifelong nature enthusiast who developed her deep interest in birds throughout her life. She knows what it’s like to be a beginner, and what it’s like to be a true “birder.” She can get you from one to the other. This workshop is perfect for adults who want to see what all the fuss is about. These 2 hour classes will talk about everything from binoculars to where to look for birds on Long Island (hint, they’re everywhere). You don’t need binoculars if you don’t yet have them, and Katie will give tips on how to choose them. We’ll start indoors, and observe birds at CEED’s feeders, and then go outside if weather permits.
