Nobody Knows CEED Better than Lovey Dovey

Animal Ambassadors, Community Programs, Nature Center, Support, Washington Lodge

Hi, Lovey Dovey here, reporting from my birds-eye view of CEED. I’ve been here pretty much from the beginning. I’ve seen this organization grow from just two people with a dream – my old buddy Ranger Eric and co-founder Rebecca Muellers – to a thriving organization with dedicated full and part-time employees, numerous on-call educators, and more volunteers than I can count. I’ve seen the building be transformed, and hundreds of people of all ages pass in front of my cage every year.

Just watching from my perch (and occasionally laughing), I’ve witnessed people learning to paint wildflowers, discovering how to survive in the wild, and getting involved to help save stranded sea turtles, just to give a few examples. And by listening in, I’ve heard there is lots more in store for 2025 to connect our community to nature and science with creative use of discovery, art and education.

There is so much more going on here than eight years ago when I first started living in this building. That’s why it’s great that any donations made today, Giving Tuesday, get doubled by the Matching Gift Fund. They sure do need and appreciate the support.

If you’ve ever been here for a program, you know I sometimes like to land on people’s heads. And occasionally, I’ve left a mark there, if you know what I mean. But I promise, if you make a Giving Tuesday gift to CEED right now, I’ll never do that to you!
