ReWild LI Hike

Sunday, March 2, 2025, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Join us at CEED for a hike to learn about native plants and different invasive species in Brookhaven.
ReWild Long Island is dedicated to collaborating with local communities across Long Island to protect and improve the biodiversity, resilience and health of regional ecosystems. This is achieved by adopting sustainable landscaping practices centered on the use of native plants.
Learn a bit about the history of the location, the northern trail, which is part of the Beaver Dam Creek County Park, and the southern trail, which is part of the Dennis Puleston Preserve in Brookhaven Hamlet. As we hike, we will notice the vast difference in native plants in the preserve as compared to the northern, more human-induced trail.
