Bobwhite Quail Releases 2024
Message from the Quail Team
Wow, what an amazing year! We had over 1,700 quail eggs hatching over 40 classrooms and libraries across Long Island hatch quail this year. We have 3 large pens holding the quail now getting them ready for release and are in the process of building a movable one at CEED. Please join us for one or more of our release dates below to cheer these little ones on as they enter the local natural habitats where they belong.
We would also like to give a huge shout out to our Quail Pen Volunteer Coordinators:
Jean Lentin – Caleb Smith State Park
Olive Archer – Town of Brookhaven Manorville Compost Facility
Mike Ring – Clark Botanic Garden
If you know or see any of these people, please thank them for the tremendous amount of time and effort managing the feeding and care of the quail.
Thank you as always for your support!
Get outside and enjoy nature!
