Your own mini forest retreat for health

Your own mini forest retreat for health

Your own mini forest retreat for health

Sunday, December 3, 2 – 5pm

Forest Therapy is a research-based framework for supporting healing and wellness through immersion in a forest or other natural environment.

Sound Healing is the practice of using sound and frequency for relaxation, healing, and personal development.

Join Linda Lombardo, Forest Therapy Guide, and Erika Haberkorn, Sound Energy Practitioner, for an immersive 3-hour nature and sound experience. We will explore the trails and take pauses for all to be present and to fully experience peaceful moments with nature, gathering some therapeutic benefits it has to offer. The forest bathing will be followed by a sound bath ceremony led by Dayna. Sound therapy is the perfect complement to nature. Together they have a rich medicinal synchronicity and have the ability to change the entire energy state of your mind, body, and spirit, a truly transformative experience.

We will end by the campfire with ceremonial tea.

Please dress for the weather and bring a yoga mat or something to sit on in the forest.

Edible Mushrooms

Edible Mushrooms

Edible Mushrooms

SATURDAY, October 14 · 3pm – 5pm
Long Island is home to a variety of delicious edible mushrooms, but identification can be intimidating for those new to foraging. Come learn about our region’s most charismatic and beginner-friendly species and develop some skills and vocabulary for identifying fungi in the field through a brief talk and a walk and field ID session through CEED-adjacent woodlands.

This introductory class is taught by Conor Cash, who has been foraging and cultivating edible, medicinal and aesthetic mushrooms since 2010.

For smartphone users, consider downloading Seek app beforehand. Please bring any mushroom field guides that you have, and wear sturdy footwear for uneven trails.

Free Mambo Loco Concert at CEED

Free Mambo Loco Concert at CEED

Saturday, Oct. 7, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

We were so sorry to have to cancel our Annual Fall Festival.  When you honor Mother Nature, that includes accepting that her phenomenon don’t necessarily include your plans.

But the good news is that the amazing Latin Music band Mambo Loco has agreed to come to CEED this Saturday, Oct. 7, and do a FREE concert for all our friends.  This will be an outdoor concert on the back deck (assuming Mother Nature cooperates this time).

Did we mention it’s FREE?  Come for an hour, come for two hours, or stay for the whole three hour concert!
