Grow Almond Mushrooms

 Saturday, July 26, 2025.

 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM

Join us at CEED to grow Almond Mushrooms!

Program Description: Many edible mushrooms grow on finished, untreated compost and are good candidates for companion planting with vegetables during warm summer months, aiding plants in nutrient uptake and benefiting from the shelter of leaves. Among these is the Almond Agaricus (Agaricus subrufescens), a delicious, heat-loving cousin of white button, portobello, and crimini mushrooms.

In this workshop, we will discuss the cultivation of this and other compost-loving mushrooms in beds and containers as a companion to vegetables and flowers. Participants will prepare a planter with both almond agaricus and kale as a take-home component.
