Winter Forest Bathing and Sound Healing Mini-Retreat

Winter Forest Bathing and Sound Healing Mini-Retreat

Winter Forest Bathing and Sound Healing Mini-Retreat

Sunday, March 3, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Forest Therapy is a research-based framework for supporting healing and wellness through immersion in a forest or other natural environment. And Sound Healing is the practice of using sound and frequency for relaxation, healing, and personal development.

Join Linda Lombardo, Forest Therapy Guide, and Dayna Hunter, Sound Energy Practitioner, for an immersive 3-hour nature and sound experience. We will explore the trails and take pauses for all to be present and to fully experience peaceful moments with nature, gathering some therapeutic benefits it has to offer. The forest bathing will be followed by a sound bath ceremony led by Dayna. Sound therapy is the perfect complement to nature. Together they have a rich medicinal synchronicity and can change the entire energy state of your mind, body, and spirit, a truly transformative experience. We will end by the campfire with ceremonial tea.

Natural Wonders Walks with Ranger Eric

Winter might seem like a difficult time to identify plants but where there’s a will there’s a way!  Join us as we learn about some of our trees at CEED, how to identify them, and the many ways in which we use them, such as for lumber, food, resins, shade, and more. We will start inside before hitting the trail. Please dress according to the weather.  We might even try to tap a maple tree for maple syrup!

Evolution of Birds with John Potente

Wednesday, February 28, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

In recent decades, we’ve learned that birds are actually the one surviving branch of the dinosaurs that dominated earth for hundreds of millions of years.  How did we get from dinosaurs to chickadees, eagles, and birds of paradise?  John Potente is a legend among Long Island nature lovers for his passion, his engaging presentations, and his wonder at the powers of nature. John has taken a deep dive into a study of the evolution of our winged friends and he’ll share what he’s learned with you.

Participants can also experience an art workshop to explore different bird features and shapes to create a unique bird for a specific habitat.
