Create Beautiful Nature Art with the Iron Curtain Method

SATURDAY, JUNE 3 · 4 – 6:30 PM

Create your own special art print using the “Iron Curtain” method, which uses a carrier blanket – cotton fabric or similar material (even paper towels) that absorbs a liquid solution of your color dyes and mordants. The result is a unique and beautiful reflection of nature.

Healing and Wellness from the Forest

Healing and Wellness from the Forest

Healing and Wellness from the Forest

SUNDAY, JUNE 25 · 2 – 5 PM

Give yourself or a friend the gift of an immersive 3-hour nature and sound experience.

Forest Therapy is a process of gaining healing and wellness through guided immersion in a forest or other natural environment. Sound Healing is the practice of using sound and frequency for relaxation, healing and personal development.

Join Linda Lombardo, Forest Therapy Guide, and Dayna Hunter, Sound Energy Practitioner, for an immersive 3-hour nature and sound experience. We will explore the trails and take pauses for all to be present and to fully experience peaceful moments with nature, gathering the therapeutic benefits it has to offer. The forest therapy will be followed by a sound bath ceremony led by Dayna. Sound therapy is the perfect complement to nature. Together they have a rich medicinal synchronicity backed by research, and have the ability to change the state of your mind, body, and spirit … a truly transformative experience.

We will end by the campfire with ceremonial tea.

Please dress for the weather and bring a yoga mat or something to sit on in the forest. Register below.

Commune with Quail

Commune with Quail

If you’ve ever seen young quail, or if you’ve met Robert (Bob) our CEED Bobwhite Quail ambassador, you know that quail are among the cutest, most interesting Long Island natives. This is your chance to learn about them and meet them up close.  We need volunteers who will dedicate one hour a week for a couple of months to help take care of our young quail before release. The pens are located in Manorville, Smithtown, and North Hempstead. We need one volunteer every morning and every afternoon, seven days a week at all three pens. Pick the time that suits your schedule, and help give our quail a good chance to restore Long Island’s wild quail population.
