Why I pushed for CEED to have a spring camp

Why I pushed for CEED to have a spring camp

Why I pushed for CEED to have a spring camp

April 22-26

Several years ago, I was one of the CEED Board and staff who advocated for a spring vacation camp. I had been involved with other nature centers that had vacation camps and it always seemed to be a big hit with families and with nature educators.

Spring camp is a different experience from summer camp, with less heat and fewer bugs, and more nature coming to life again wonder.

An experience like this gives kids a nice break from classroom studies. They will be outside and getting more physical activity. It also solves the “what to do with the kids” problem for families that have two working adults. And it gives young people the opportunity to interact with adult role models who are passionate about connecting with nature.

I was glad when we decided to start a spring camp at CEED, and I hope to see it grow. This year, we added a single day option to CEED’s Spring Nature Adventure Camp. You can register your children for a single day, two days, or all five (April 22-26).

I hope you’ll enroll your children or pass on the news to families with children in our area.

Thanks,

Tom Pelletier

CEED Board of Directors
